FNTL’s Top Five Makeup Essentials
Wondering what products to splurge on next? Here are our top makeup essentials for you to try out!
For most of my life, I went with the “I’m invincible” mentality when it came to skin care and beauty regimes. I washed my face with soap, put some kajal on, and I was good to go! But after becoming a major Sephora junkie, I have realised maintaining a beauty routine with good makeup essentials is key to looking radiant and beautiful!
I used to live a beauty product free life. But lately, and to the dismay of my wallet, I have realised that the products you put on your face make a huge difference to your skin and your outlook as well. I have now started using some Sephora recommended skincare products and some makeup essentials that have now become a part of my beauty routine.
Here are my top five makeup essentials:
I literally used to put Vaseline lotion on my face before I started using Korres Moisturizer. Spending all day outside the house for work, with the dust and pollution, was leaving me with oily skin. So I went to my local Sephora and asked them for a moisturizer that won’t let my skin get dry and at the same time keep it from getting oily during my 9 to 5 routine. And trust me, this moisturizer works like a miracle!
I have really bad dark circles – Its genetic, and working all the time while getting very little sleep isn’t helping much either. And to let you in on a secret, I haven’t done much to get rid of them as well. Which is why, my Bare Minerals concealer is my best friend. I mix Medium 2 and Tan 1 to get the perfect color for my skin. This has truly become a product I cant leave the house without!
I walked into Sephora last year and asked them for a liquid foundation that would give me Kardashian coverage. We may despise them, but hey who doesn’t want to look photo ready all the time?! The super nice lady at Sephora recommended the Born This Way Foundation and it gave me exactly the coverage I wanted. During the day, I use a very little amount of it and get medium coverage that hides all my blemish spots. While going out and later in the day, I use enough product to get full coverage. It also gives a dewy finish that makes your skin glow without any highlights. I’m never changing my foundation again!
I was always on the hunt for a volumizing mascara that worked on my average length lashes. From drug store brands to Dior – I have tired it all. I recently found a winner with Benefit’s They’re Real! Mascara. It actually makes your lashes look longer and thicker. And, it creates the perfect makeup free look – just put some mascara on with concealer and a nude lip stain and you are good to go!
Lip stains are all the rage these days, so I decided to jump on the bandwagon. After trying a few brands out there, I have decided that Tarte has the best range of colors. The finish is really good and their formula keeps your lips from drying out! My top color picks are Homeslice, Delish and XOXO.
